Some help...

Postby Thal J » Sat Feb 07, 2009 3:57 pm

...with my new Dojo would be great.
So here is the story, I have a project that I finished here, and I have started on my Dojo of the same scale. I have it drawn out and construction has begun, now my problem is that I have a Rock Garden planned for the outside with a coy pond, a trap door under the main floor, a "office", a weapons room. All the interiors will have(I don't know if this is the right term) Paper sliding doors.

So the need for help is this, what am I missing???

That depends on what kind of dojo you're making.

If you're going the traditional route, don't forget to include makiwara (striking pads), a wooden dummy or plum flower poles, shrines and lots of kanji scrolls. You'll want to include tatami style mats too.

If you're going for a more modern dojo, add some heavy bags, maybe even a boxing ring.

This Shoji Set Diorama might give you some ideas.

I find it useful to google images to get ideas for what I want to make, photo references are a big help to me. Then I'll start the design process and make a list of materials I'll need.

Wow, Thank you. I have started the ring, but am still in the drawing stages for the main building. I'll post pics of the ring when it's done. :arashikage:

Any progress on the dojo?

I thought that you might like these new Japanese diorama sets too.

Soft Master? That is indeed a rare custom to see. I don't think I have EVER seen a good soft master. What are you using?

I found an old Buck Rogers figure whom I am going to use as a base.
I am going to try to make him 25th and still be smallish in stature.

You should repost your stuff here, as I am just one of many people who refuse to go to PissSkank
